Wente Vineyards 2005 Crane Ridge Merlot

The Wine of the Week for September 19-26 is the Wente Vineyards 2005 Crane Ridge Merlot. This is a particularly smooth vintage, with delicious undertones of blackberry and vanilla with a smoky oak finish. It was fermented standing upright in stainless steel fermenters, and aged for at least 12 months in American and French oak barrels.

A bottle of this wine is $25 at the Coming Home wine room. A glass is $8. Come visit us tonight at the wine tasting starting at 5:00 on the corner of Water and Kansas on the historic Liberty Square. Feel free to blog about this delicious wine. We look forward to seeing you here1

cindy davidson this was a smooth wine that would be excellent with steak or Italian foods.
Heidi Winkler (the future Mrs. Bader) and Stephen Bader-

We are penny pinchers and we enjoyed the wine and atmosphere so much that we bought two bottles of wine to take home! We are planning on making this a tradition!
cathy scassellati I loved the wine of the week. Not to tanic but a bit dry. yes I would buy it.

Great wine!

The taste was wonderful, and it could have been easily three or four glasses. Too bad it wasn't...

The Brutocao was a great mix of spice and sweet - a definite repeat!
Pour me a whole glass :)

Love the Italians!

Valerie--I love Italian wines, and the Sangiovese grape is among my favorites. This wine is sweet and smooth. The flavor doesn't pop as much as other Sangioveses, but it is still delicious. Make sure you bury your nose in the glass and take a good whiff. It smells delicious! I give the Quadriga an A.

Brutocao Quadriga wine 2005

The Wine of the Week for September12-19 is the 2005 Brutocao Estate Quadriga. One of the four varietals of Italian Wine of Brutocao Cellars, this wine is an award winner to the fullest. A delicious red blend of Sangiovese, Primitivo, Barbera and Dolcetta, this wine offers "a portrait of aromas and flavors that have resonated throughout the Mediterranean for centuries."

A bottle of 2005 Quadriga is $27.00 at Coming Home.

I want another taste

Nikki Pelier says, "You know what? I liked it. It was smooth and it was a perfect blend. I liked the oak. It was not too dry. and when I first tasted it, it actually made me want to have another drink."

One is not enough.

Melanie--We took this wine home last weekend. It was in our wine locker and when we saw it, we knew it would be better enjoyed at home. We drank it earlier this week and thought that it was amazing. I loved it. It was one of those wines where one glass isn't enough.
